ADFIL Durus S300 Concrete Reinforcement Fibre - 75g (2.65 ounces)
Durus S300 are monofilament macro synthetic fibres that are extruded, embossed and then specifically cut into 45mm lengths for a wide range of concreting applications. It can be used in ready mixed concrete and precast concrete applications both above and in underground situations.
The embossment improves the bond within the concrete and so reduces pull-out and enhances the concrete's performance. The macro synthetic fibre has been designed to replace traditional steel reinforcement and steel fibres with the benefits of increased performance, reduced costs and health and safety advantages.
The Durus S300 has satisfied the criteria set out in BS 6920: Part 1: 2000 which means that the fibre can be used in concrete that is in contact with water intended for human consumption. The fibre is also non-corrosive and will provide all clients with long-term integrity solutions.

The S300 can be used in many construction applications. They include:

The Durus fibres should be added to your mix at a rate of 4.0Kg per cubic metre of concrete. You’ll need
to determine the capacity of your mixer in order to add the correct amount of fibres. Some mixer manufacturers publish this information online. If you are unable to find this info, the easiest way to measure your mixer is to fill it with water and then pour the water into a builder’s bucket of known capacity.
Example: Let’s say you’ve measured your mixer and determined that it has a capacity of 90 litres. Divide 1000 by 90 and you come up with a figure of 11.11. That means that it will take 11.11 mixer loads to equal one cubic metre. 4000grams of fibres divided by 11.11 = 360grams of fibres need to be added to every mixer load. If in doubt, give us a ring and we can help you work this out - please measure your mixer first!
In concrete the fibres can be gradually dispersed in the aggregate while the drum is turning. After all the other ingredients have been added, including the remaining mixing water the material should be mixed for a minimum of 70 revolutions at full speed to ensure uniform fibre dispersion. In the case of site mixing, a minimum of 70 drum revolutions is highly recommended.
